Membership Benefits
1. Celebrate & Recognize Nurses
- Help plan and organize the annual Yuma County Nurses Foundation’s Gala during National
Nurses month in May—an event dedicated to honoring the hard work and dedication of nurses in our community.
2. Professional Growth & Networking
- Connect with fellow nurses and healthcare professionals.
- Gain insight into nonprofit organizations and learn about fundraising, sponsorships, event planning, and grant writing.
- Join one of our sub-committees with active participation November through May.
- Enhance your leadership skills by participating in shared governance and decision-making processes.
3. Community Impact
- Help fundraise for the gala and assist with sending nurses to the event as well as providing professional development scholarship and nurse recognition awards.
- Be a role model for professionalism, integrity, teamwork, and collaboration in the nursing community.
Membership Qualifications
To be eligible for membership in the Yuma County Nurses Foundation (YCNF), individuals must meet the following criteria:
1. Be a Registered Nurse– Any non-encumbered, active, or retired Registered Nurse who demonstrates an active interest in the mission and purpose of YCNF may be eligible for membership.
2. Maintain Voting & Board Membership- Only active, Registered Nurses shall have voting privileges and be eligible to serve as board members.
3. Commit to The Mission & Bylaws– Membership is open to individuals who support the mission, purpose, policies, and bylaws of YCNF.
4. Meet Annual Requirements– Each nurse member must complete a volunteer application and submit annual dues to maintain active membership.
5. Join as a student nurse– Pre-licensure nursing students may join as non-voting members and are exempt from dues.
