Nominate a Nurse

***Deadline for submission of nominations is Saturday, April 13, 2024.

Every year Yuma County nurses are nominated by friends, family members, and peers for their contributions to nursing. Nominations are now open for the Five YCNC awards:

  • Art of Nursing Award: Nurses nominated for this award should possess and demonstrate excellence in the attributes of compassion, caring, and empathy as well as exemplify the art of nursing
  • Leadership in Nursing Award: Nurses nominated for this award should possess and demonstrate excellence in the attributes of communication, emotional intelligence, and integrity as seen in their service and performance as a nurse leader.
  • Clinical Nursing Award: Nurses nominated for this award should possess and demonstrate excellence in the attributes of clinical judgment, critical thinking, inter-professional collaboration, and commitment to patient/family health and wellness.
  • Mentorship in Nursing Award: Nurses nominated for this award should possess and demonstrate excellence in the attributes of teaching, mentoring, and fostering the growth and development of nursing students or nurses at any stage in their career. 
  • Nurse Advocacy Award: Nurses nominated for this award should possess and demonstrate excellence in the attributes of patient advocacy and advocating for the profession of nursing.

** NOMINATING CRITERIA **

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN),
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), Nurse Practitioner (NP),
Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

Practicing nurse in Yuma County

Does not have to be a member of a nursing organization

Must be living to be able to receive award
